Our philanthropy helps nonprofit organizations serving Sonoma Valley to flourish, creating an environment in which our inhabitants thrive, our natural landscapes are protected, and our unique local character is preserved, supported, and celebrated. EQUITY We believe in and prioritize equity in our organization and philanthropy because all people deserve to be respected and valued. We embrace a participatory grantmaking process, and work to recruit members with a broad range of backgrounds, ideas, and experiences. Similarly, we expect our grant recipients to acknowledge the importance of incorporating equity into their organizational mission, vision, and values. RESPONSIBLE STEWARDSHIP We believe in responsible stewardship of the funds we receive from our member donors. We use 100 percent of their $1,000 grant donations to accomplish our mission through trust-based philanthropy. ENGAGEMENT We believe in encouraging our members to engage in community activities and volunteerism. We offer them multiple opportunities to learn about the goals and needs of nonprofits serving Sonoma Valley, to develop a better understanding of the challenges facing local residents, and to discover ways to create positive change collectively and individually. |
