MEMBER FAQ

Who are the members of Impact100 Sonoma?

Impact100 Sonoma is open to all women age 18 or older who live in, or who wish to support, the Sonoma Valley community. Each $1,200 annual donation provides membership for one year’s grant cycle.

Is my donation to Impact100 Sonoma tax-deductible?
Yes. Contributions made by December 31 are tax-deductible for the year in which the donation was made. Impact100 Sonoma is a Section 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

If I contribute more than $1,200, do I get more than one vote?

No. Our founding principle is “one woman, one vote.” Additional donations are an essential part of helping to strengthen our organization today and sustain it for the future.

What is required of a member?

Once you join, your level of involvement is entirely up to you. You can simply join and cast your vote for the annual grant recipients, or you can become actively involved by serving on a Grant Review Committee, a standing committee, or our board of directors. Ours is a no-guilt organization! Every membership dollar is equal in serving our community.

Once I join, how long is my membership in Impact100 Sonoma?
Each annual donation provides membership for the next calendar year. Women who donate by December 31 of any year are eligible to vote on grant recipients in the spring of the following year and qualify as members for the entire year.

How does Impact100 Sonoma stay in touch with members?
Impact100 Sonoma uses email communication and social media to stay in touch with members. In addition, we publish a monthly online newsletter and host a variety of events throughout the year.

My employer matches funds for charitable donations. Can I give $600 and have my employer match it to make my total $1,200 donation?

Yes. Businesses or employers can contribute in any amount to an employee’s membership in Impact100 Sonoma. We also appreciate matching funds from employers and use those donations to help offset essential operating costs.

Can I charge my membership on a credit card?
Yes. Click here to learn more about paying online with a credit or debit card.

How can I join Impact100 Sonoma if I can't make the $1,200 contribution?
Learn about our Employee Sponsorship and Individual Sponsorship programs. If you self-identify as being between ages 21 and 45, you can apply for a NextGen program sponsorship. We also have a Shared Membership program in which you and a partner split the basic membership fee of $1,200. As full members, both of you can attend meetings, participate in all activities, and join committees, but you’ll share one vote to select nonprofit grant recipients.

How can I support Impact100 Sonoma if I don't become a member?

You can become a Friend of Impact100 Sonoma and play a very important role in our organization. All Friend donations are tax-deductible. While it does not provide you with voting rights, your Friend donation can be designated to go toward the grants pool or support operations.

Can men participate in Impact100 Sonoma?
Men are encouraged to become Friends of Impact100 Sonoma (see above) and may volunteer to help at activities and events. They may not become members.
